The companies’ culture keeps getting better, both through a higher level of implication and high engagement from the leaders, as well as through innovative acknowledgement programmes, top-down and peer levels.
Our client wanted to implement an internal comms project that would combine two aspects: business informing – about the previous years’ results and the priorities set for 2022, and an acknowledgement gala for the organisation’s members, who would be nominated by their own colleagues.
The company is part of the telecommunication industry and is one of the top 3 players on the market, at a national level.
Even though we are different, there are certain things and behaviours that bring us together. Some of us are braver, others are more creative when it comes to our own working style. Some of us have inspiration, others are focusing on the results. No matter how we react individually, through everyone’s contribution, results are obtained collectively. The culture of appreciation is a pillar through which a team that is ambitious, united and with a high-performance level is formed.
And from here on, we created the programme “Cheers from Peers” – a project that gives colleagues the chance to acknowledge the qualities of the ones they are working with. Reciprocated acknowledgement at a peer level creates an even stronger connection between people. They end up getting to know each other better and end up appreciating the others’ strong points, as well as developing a strong trust when collaborating.
The best part: “Cheers from Peers” is a continuous system in which colleagues can constantly nominate and can award almost immediately virtual badges to the ones that they appreciate.
The recognition mode’s climax of “Cheers from Peers” was the acknowledgement gala.
The event started amid an atmosphere full of emotion, happiness, and energy. The dynamism and authenticity of the moment were both fuelled by the gala’s two moderators, the representatives of the communication team and the representative of the Learning & Development sector.
The top management team touched up on the subject of business elements in a talk show that took inspiration from the TV format. The messages that were addressed to the big team were under the form of an open, transparent dialogue in the brand’s well-known spirit and organisational culture.
The action was showcased in a hybrid format – the speakers and the moderators were in a professional studio, and the colleagues were on the Exploratist’s Digital Stage platform, a series of specific solutions tailored specifically for internal online events and hybrid ones.
The accent that was put on the people resulted from both the structure of the first part’s messages, as well as from the second part that was focused on celebration, having had an energetic tone.
The moderators brought to light the story of the 8 categories and the 8 various characteristics that were attributed to colleagues from the company. These characteristics were: oriented towards success, creative, thankful, team spirit, mentor, oriented towards solutions, optimist and brave.
Besides the 48 colleagues that represented the 8 categories, there was another special category – dedicated to the colleagues that gave the most badges. Therefore, the company also appreciates the continuous recognition behaviour, through which team members appreciate their colleagues.
In the colleagues’ virtual applauses and in the musical chords of the band that dedicated a personalised song for the awarded colleagues, the gala was a marathon of emotions and proved to be a unique experience for the participants.
